The prices on our website can be subject to fluctuations, especially during times of major exchange rate variations. The prices for most computer related products are ultimately based on the US dollar (USD), so when the New Zealand dollar drops in value against the US dollar, it is highly likely prices will increase.
Because of the shear volume of products on our site, it is not possible to update every product price, at every instance of increase. For this reason, we will contact you the price of your order increase to a level we cannot sustain, i.e. especially where our new cost/buy price exceeds the price you agreed to purchase at. You will then have the option to cancel the order, or continue at the new price.
Although of course we will do our best to make the price of your order the actual price, we are under no obligation to honour every price on our site, as in legal terms they are an "invitation to treat", and there is no contract for sale until we "accept" the deal by processing your order. We will generally do our best to help you though, where we can.
Online - Payment by Credit Card
We do NOT charge any extra for credit card purchases online. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Diners. Some overseas cards may have problems processing, for which we will contact you about if required.
Most of our competitors charge around 2% or 3% (or more) for using credit cards - if they even accept them at all. This means we can offer you real savings, while still allowing you the convenience of credit card payment.
In-store - Payment by Credit Card
You are more than welcome to purchase any items from any of our stores or by phone, at the standard prices listed on our website, by any payment method available at the time. This may not apply to special prices, as outlined below:
If we have identified a price on our website as "Special!" in red highlighting etc (as above), this is our "web-purchase price", for ordering online and for payment by any means available, for delivery to an address of your choice.
Should you wish to purchase and/or collect from our stores, this special price may not be available. This is because stores may have different ownership, and because the service offered in-store is different to that of an online purchase.
For instance many people ask additional questions etc about the products they are purchasing, which we have no trouble answering, but this does cost more in regards to our time etc, whereas by purchasing online people tend to already be aware of what they are purchasing. We put a lot of effort into the text on our product detail pages for this reason.
Also, with web-orders, we can process these at any time at our convenience, which frees up time for our staff during busy times etc. The stores are retail (not warehouses) so we must first attend to customers in-store.
What this means is that you are more than welcome to purchase and/or collect from any of our stores, but you will need to pay by EFTPOS, cash, or direct credit, OR you can pay by credit card but the price may be up to 4% dearer (rounded up) than that advertised on our website as a "Special!" (which covers the commission costs etc). We will advise you in-store if this is the case.
Normally our freight charges calculated during the ordering process will be accurate, and will be the amount you will get charged to your credit card, or is the amount you need to pay to our bank account.
On some occasions, the charges will be additional, which we will just add to your credit card to save the additional hassle and delays of contacting you.
As we are required to put an additional "Rural Delivery" ticket on each package, there will be an additional charge of $4 per item shipped. This applies to any address marked as "R D x" such as "R D 4 Warkworth" etc.
For instance per our website $100 (goods) with $3 shipping - to a "R D" address, we will charge $107 to your credit card. You agree to this by accepting the order.
* Note: We notice a lot of people do not put their "RD x" on their address for their order. This does NOT mean you will avoid the charges, as all addresses are checked. You will be charged regardless of what you put on your order if you are actually in a RD area. Make it easier for both of us, and just put the reference in your order :)
Sometimes the calculation method used by our web freight calculator cannot take into account how many packages are required to be shipped. Occasionally we will need to charge additional freight to take this into account. We will of course try and keep these charges as low as possible.
For instance per our website $100 goods with $6 shipping for a printer and toner, we will need to send the toner separately so may need to charge an additional $6 for this. We will therefore charge your credit card $112 in total. You agree to this by accepting the order.
Where possible, we try to send packages in courier bags - as these will be cheaper for you, and are what most of our freight/courier/shipping charges are based on. Sometimes there are larger items that do not fit in these, which require a separate courier "Ticket" product, which are generally dearer. If these are only a couple of dollars more, we don't generally worry, but if these vary significantly we will email you before processing the order.
Where necessary, we may need to charge up to $6 extra for your order, which is not worth the time to email in most cases. If we can do this, we will add up to $6 to your order without notifying you. Obviously, we will try to avoid this as much as possible.
We are happy to accept returns for any products you order that happen to be faulty, or become faulty within their warranty period. The freight charges to return the items to us is your responsibility, but we will cover the cost shipping of the replacement/repaired goods to you.
Should you have a faulty product, you can contact us directly or the manufacturer. For products such as Brother, D-Link, and Sony VAIO, you are best to contact the manufacturer directly to obtain RA numbers or details, in the interests of time-saving. We are more than happy to arrange this for you, but this could take an additional 4-days or more to arrange at our end.
Most warranty periods for new items are 12-months from purchase date, and for second-hand are 1-month from purchase date, unless indicated otherwise.
If you decide to return goods that are not faulty, we will need to charge from 15% to 50% re-stocking fee, in order to cover our costs of handling the return of the product, and for preparing the goods for re-sale.
We do not refund courier charges.
This includes products you have ordered incorrectly, as we cannot be responsible for products you mistakenly ordered, or for products that you have purchased that are not compatible with others you have (unless we have specifically stated that they will be compatible).
The nature of purchasing online is that you would have researched the products in advance, and taken information from our product pages etc to determine the products are suitable. We make no representations as to compatibility or suitability for a purpose etc, other than those specifically outlined or detailed in our product detail pages.
